Guideposts Radio Shows

Guideposts Radio Shows

We share radio shows hosted by Windrush Radio with the whole Guideposts community, bringing us all together to enjoy some great tunes.

Listen in on Saturdays for the Community Show and every other Sunday for Lights up especially for people of older generations, perhaps living with dementia, as well as families and friends.

How the radio shows work

The radio shows go out live online on Windrush Radio and you can hear past shows on catch-up at

We started the weekly Guideposts Community Radio Show in April 2020 while we couldn’t meet in person.  It has been a great success, and even when we do meet in the week, everyone enjoys sharing some tunes and shout-outs at the weekend as well!

We added a second radio show at the beginning of 2021, relating to our “Lights Up” groups for people with dementia and their carers, playing a great mixture of oldies.

The Guideposts Community Radio Show

Saturdays, 11am-12 midday

Hosted by Simon Oliver, our Saturday community show is all requests: everyone in the Guideposts community whether members, staff, volunteers or friends & family can request a favourite song. Listen in to find out if your song is played – or just to hear all the great tracks and shout-outs.

Requests for each show should be sent to us by 3pm on the Friday before the show. Send in your song request on facebook or text/whatsapp Tim on 07703 685196.

Lights Up Radio Show

Every other Sunday, 11am-12 midday

Community radio show supporting people living with dementia and their friends and family. Ron Spurs brings us oldies from across the decades for us all to enjoy.

Send in a request to hear your favourite tune of yesteryear on the next show to or leave a message on 07494254369.

Who is it for?

Both shows are for everyone! Tune in and find out what’s playing.

The Lights Up show is based around music for people who live with dementia and related conditions, but can be enjoyed by everyone.

Why should I join?

Tune in to connect with the Guideposts Community, and to hear some great feel-good music. Hear achievements of our service members and what we’ve been doing recently.
