Leave a Gift in your Will
Get Involved > Leave a Gift in your Will
Gifts in your Will allow your values to live on. Supporters like you transform the work we can do for generations to come. A gift of even a small fraction of what you leave behind will change our future, whilst ensuring everything else goes to others closest to you.
By leaving a gift in your Will, you can help ensure that Guideposts can continue supporting the most vulnerable people living in the UK, in years to come.
Why leave a Will?
Leaving a Will can help make a difficult time much easier for your loved ones. Without a Will, finalising the affairs of someone who has died is much more complicated, with delays and added legal costs.
By leaving a Will you can ensure your wishes are followed and your loved ones are protected from added distress. It also enables you to leave a gift to other causes that matter to you.
The Value of leaving a gift in your Will
Guideposts wouldn’t be able to plan for the future, establish and run much-valued services in our local communities, or survive during challenging times, without our supporters’ continued generosity. We have been supporting people in the community for 50 years, and we intend to continue well into the future.
Almost a third of all our work, most specifically for people with dementia and for carers, is funded by the legacy gifts left to us by supporters who have chosen to leave a gift to us in their will.
After taking care of your loved ones, your gift to Guideposts Trust will make a lasting difference, providing vulnerable, disadvantaged, or isolated people with advice, opportunities and skills to live well in their community in the years ahead.

Make a Will Online
It is now more convenient and secure than ever to leave a gift in your Will. We work with Make a Will Online to help our supporters turn their intentions into a reality. You can go to www.makeawillonline.co.uk/guideposts and follow the instructions. Every Will also benefits from free access to Capacity Vault, to protect the wishes in your Will online.
See a solicitor
If you already have a solicitor or if you would rather speak to a solicitor face to face you should do so. Also, if you have a large estate above the inheritance tax threshold, or if you have a complex estate (e.g. trusts or foreign assets) you should also speak with a solicitor.
You can find a local solicitor using the Law Society website.
Your data
When you make a Will online using the above link we find out about the gift you leave and you can opt in, or out, of sharing your contact details with us. This is extremely useful to help with our forward planning. We recognise some supporters want to keep their plans completely anonymous. You can do this by using this link to make an online Will. However you choose to support us, we are extremely grateful.
