If your employer runs a Payroll Giving scheme, you can choose to give to Guideposts before tax.

Tax-efficient and easy. It costs less to give more!

Payroll Giving, also called Give as You Earn, is an easy and tax-efficient way to give to Guideposts, allowing you help vulnerable people in the local community every time you’re paid.

As long as your employer is registered with a Payroll Giving scheme, you can choose to give to Guideposts from your pay before tax is deducted.  This maximises your gift: for example, a gift to Guideposts of £10 would only cost you £8 of taxed earnings, or even less if you are a higher-rate tax payer.

You have full control, and can stop or change your donation at any time by contacting your payroll team.  And there is increased privacy, with no need to give any bank details.

How your payroll gift will help us

Your gift will most importantly help Guideposts to continue supporting vulnerable people in our local communities. Whether living with a mental health condition, disability, dementia, or as a carer, your donation will help people to live their best life possible.

Your regular gift will also make a big difference to us, contributing to our regular income stream that enables us to plan ahead and budget for the future.

Payroll Giving for Employers

If your organisation doesn’t yet participate in a Payroll Giving scheme, it’s easy to set up and is low cost.

Payroll Giving is a great way to engage employees, add to your employee benefits package, and add to your corporate social responsibility, enabling employees to more easily engage in charitable giving.

Follow these simple steps

  • Register with an HRMC approved Payroll Giving Agency or member of the Association of Payroll Giving Organisations. If you work with a payroll facilitator, they may recommend an agency who they already work with.
  • Let your employees know about your Payroll Giving Scheme. Your Payroll Giving Agency might help with this.
  • Deduct employees’ donation from their salary using your usual payroll software.
  • Send the employees’ names and donation amounts to your Payroll Giving Agency each pay run.
  • Guideposts, and any other chosen charities, will receive your employees’ donations from the agency.

Match Funding

To give your employee benefits package extra value, and give to the causes that your employees care about,  why not match-fund employees’ donations? Match-funding often works well to kick-start a new scheme, or as a regular limited-time promotion.
