Dementia Carers Group
Dementia Carers Group
Our virtual Dementia Carers Group is a monthly support group running over Zoom.
Each month we invite a speaker to share their knowledge on a particular aspect of dementia. Everyone has the chance to ask questions and share their ideas – after all, we are all experts by experience.
Current Status: This group is no longer meeting. Please see the Carers Groups page for details of our current online and in person groups for carers.
How the Dementia Carers Group works
We meet every first Thursday of the month, via Zoom.
Guest speakers share their knowledge on a particular aspect of dementia, followed by a chance to ask questions and for everyone to share their ideas.
You can expect information and support from Guideposts staff and other carers as well as friendliness and humour too!
Your support for Dementia Carers has been invaluable, especially the input from the special monthly speakers. My husband is still, fortunately, at the early stage of his Alzheimers journey, but your group has given me a ‘heads up’ as to what I may expect in the future and where to source any future assistance and support we may need.
Ian
Who are the speakers?
We welcome a wide range of speakers. Since we started in July 2020, our talks have included:

Who can we support?
The Dementia Carers Group is open to anyone who plays a caring role for someone with dementia – as well as anyone who is interested in learning more about the condition.
You don’t have to be an existing user of Guideposts to join us – just request your place at the next meeting by using the form at the bottom. You don’t even have to live in the UK. In fact we’ve welcomed someone all the way from windy Chicago!
It is often hard to keep “upskilled” and “connected”, and through these Zoom sessions I have managed to do just that, with the added bonus of some great company, and some fun too
