FestivALL Volunteer – throughout the year
We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help Guideposts run FestivALL – a dedicated space within a music festival for people with disabilities. We plan to run several FestivALL events through the year, and we need your support! A FestivALL volunteer can take on any of the following roles:
- Outer entry – Welcoming people into the area and checking tickets – will need to be able to refuse entry to non-ticketed people
- Inner entry – Welcoming people into the area and checking tickets – will need to be able to refuse entry to non-ticketed people – entrance into the main festival so important to refuse entry to drunk people
- Chill-out sensory area – Looking after the sensory area and the items in it – must have experience of working with people with additional needs, be able to calm and reassure, as this will be the quiet zone attendees need to use it
- Activity area – Looking after Games area and Headband and Bunting making area – must have experience of running artistic activities and be able to work with people with additional needs
- Water station – Helping to sell water on our water station area – must be good with people at all levels – friendly and able to encourage sales to passers-by
- Runners – People who will be confident to go into the main festival area with flyers about Guideposts and Collections tins
- Safeguarding Lead – Trained in Safeguarding, who would take responsibility for ensuring the space is safe and look after any safeguarding incidents that occur
- First Aid Lead – Trained first aiders, who would take responsibility for ensuring that first aid can be administered, if required, and liaise with ambulances on site where appropriate
