About the CEN service
Coaching for Complex Emotional Needs / A guide for referring partners
About the CEN service
The Guideposts CEN service supports people living with CEN through the delivery of evidence based and psychologically informed coaching interventions. The service is provided via a telemental health platform and delivered safely by telephone and video over a range of web-based applications. The service is currently providing support to people across Gloucestershire, through a partnership with Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust.
The service aims to support people who have significant difficulties in their daily functioning, regulating their emotions and maintaining interpersonal relationships.
Who is the service for?
People who have difficulties in their daily functioning, regulation of their emotions and maintenance of interpersonal relationships.
We support adults (age 18 years or over) irrespective of gender, ethnicity, sexuality, culture or physical abilities who live with complex emotional needs, and do not meet the criteria for treatment in NHS Talking Therapies (IAPT) or primary/secondary mental health services, and who require long-term support.
We do not accept self-referrals. We only accept referrals from healthcare professionals in primary and secondary care. If you think you may meet the referral criteria (see next page), speak to your GP.
