Witney Mayor Visits Guideposts!

10 June 2020

Last week we had a visitor to our Outdoor Wellbeing Centre, in Witney.

The new Mayor of Witney, Joy Aitman, came to visit our Outdoor Wellbeing Centre and we were overjoyed to show her around (at a safe 2 meter distance of course) and tell her about the programmes that we run here, dig n grow and Forest School. We recently moved into this new site from another location in Witney, so it was great to be able to show it off.

Helen Clarke, who leads our work at the centre and has been busy watering the plants and keeping everything alive during lockdown, was there to show Joy around and tell her about how we are creating new areas for safe social distancing when our members return.

While with us Joy spoke of her passion for inclusiveness in the community and helping to reach out to all sectors of society and how she envisaged the future for our outdoor activities.

We were very encouraged by the visit, knowing that our local councils in Witney really are behind this great venture!
