Driver – Oxfordshire

Service: GLADS
Location: Witney, Oxfordshire
Commitment: A few hours each week

About GLADS

GLADS is our day centre in Oxfordshire offering a range of social and skill-based activities for adults with learning disabilities, mobility impairments and other conditions.

Our activities can include:

  • Working towards independent living: shopping, cooking, money management, safe use of public transport
  • Outings and trips to various local places of interest

About the role

We are looking for a small team of reliable drivers, who can ideally commit to a regular few hours each week to drive either their own cars or our minibuses. You must have Category D1 on your licence or willing to take a mini bus test.

Driving hours are mainly first thing in the morning and after the session finishes at 4pm. The maximum driving hours are 2 hours per session (either AM or PM), but further details can be given upon request.

Feel free to make contact with us if you would like to pay us a visit to see what we do.

What to expect

You will find volunteering at our day opportunities a rewarding experience and a great opportunity for you to develop your skills and maybe learn new skills such as team working, listening, communication and building your own confidence.

All volunteers will receive an induction, training and on-going support in your role.

No personal care is involved and any out of pocket travel expenses are reimbursed.

This role is ideal for you if:

  • You like working with people with learning disabilities
  • You are happy to commit to regular hours
