How to support Guideposts

Shining a light

This week Brownes Hall Carterton visited Guideposts Trust #LightsUp Oxfordshire service and presented our team with a cheque for an incredible £1,000 of excess funds generated from their family fun Easter activities week in April! We are SO grateful for their support – this money will make a wonderful difference to wonderful people.

What does £1,000 mean for Guideposts Lights Up?

£1,000 could…

+ cover for the cost of artists for nearly 1 whole year!
+ cover the cost of room hire for 2 groups of 25 people for a year!

A huge thank you to Brownes Hall from everyone at Guideposts Trust – what an amazing achievement!

What is Lights Up?

Lights up clubs give a chance to people with memory problems including dementia and their carers to engage in stimulating activities in their local communities filled with laughter and fun. Activities include:

  • Painting and seasonal craft making
  • Music, singing, drama & dance
  • Reminiscence
  • Reading and poetry
  • Social outings (e.g. theatre, cinema)

Lights Up also offers specialist dementia information, advice, and guidance and signposting.Sessions are led by dementia specialists and dementia trained local artists and supported by local volunteers.

All sessions conclude with a nice chat, refreshments & cake!
