How does cycling for Guideposts work?

When you cycle for Guideposts, you will have a £450 fundraising target to meet. You will receive full support from our team between now and the date of the event to help you succeed!

You will receive a Guideposts shirt to wear during the event as well as Guideposts support team to cheer you on, and help to motivate you on your epic cycle ride!

We will assist you to set up your own fundraising page so that you can collect donations online.

What does the money I raise go towards?

All money raised by our cyclists will go towards our services supporting people with learning disabilities and mental health challenges.

£450 will support 5 people to attend our Garden To Wellbeing programme.

£1000 will pay for a year’s worth of tea and coffee for 2 support staff members, who regularly take members with complex needs out into the community.

£2000 will help us to run a CONNECT group for a whole year, supporting people who are isolated and lonely in rural areas.

About the route

The weekender route starts by heading clockwise, south from Lee Valley Showground, you join the top section of the London 2012 Olympic Road Race route. Then you cycle through Central London along the Cycle Superhighway taking in the iconic sights – the London Eye, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.

After clearing the Capital, you are faced with the stunning climbs and descents of the North Downs before cycling west to Windsor Great Park. Here you can unwind and celebrate the day’s achievements at our Festival Basecamp.

Following a night’s rest, it is time to get back in the saddle for the slightly shorter day back via the Chiltern Hills and ancient Epping Forest. This challenging route is guaranteed to make it a weekend to remember!
