Having A Ball

GUIDEPOSTS TRUST UK · WEDNESDAY, 13 FEBRUARY 2019

Each year Guideposts’ Mates ‘N’ Dates hosts a ball for 200 people with a Learning Disability. Party people come from all over Oxfordshire and beyond to get dressed up, enjoy a grand sit down meal and dance the night away! Many relationships have started at the ball – including Mark and Theresa who got engaged this year after meeting at the 2016 ball!

We had a fantastic raffle, full of prizes donated by some amazing local businesses, 200 attended. Bookers Cash and Carry in Oxford donated a Hamper, ASK Italian vouchers donated by the Witney restaurant, vouchers donated by the The Shake Shop in Witney, 2for1 Cinema tickets at Vue (Oxford) Cinema Oxford, a Magnum of fizz from Waitrose & Partners (25 Woolgate, Witney, Oxfordshire) Witney various donations from the truly amazing supporters of Guideposts Trust UK, the list continues and we want to thank each and every business and individual that donated, we were able to raise upwards of £600.00 from donations and the raffle! An extra special thank you goes to the staff at the Jurys Inn Oxford Hotel and Conference Venue who were so helpful and supportive on the night.

In October, ahead of the ball, our amazing Mates ‘N’ Dates Support Worker, Maxine ran the Oxford Half Marathon dressed as a unicorn! She raised an impressive £450, which paid for 11 people to attend the Annual Mates ‘N’ Dates Ball in October! (This year, we’re pleased to offer FREE* places for the Oxford Half Marathon – to find out more and secure your place please contact fundraising@guideposts.org.uk or visit our event link here)
