Community Support Workers (Bank / Casual)

Salary: £9.00 per hour

Location: East & North Herts services

Hours: Daytime, evening & weekend work hours variable – to be arranged

We are looking to recruit a number of enthusiastic and creative people to become part of our bank team to help us to deliver our exciting projects across East & North Hertfordshire.

Guideposts is a multi-disciplinary social care and mental health network focused first and foremost upon people. As a charity we have over 40 years’ experience meeting the needs of individuals who face any number of complex challenges; from autism, learning disability and mental health conditions, to physical disability and age-related conditions, such as dementia, sensory impairment and mobility problems. Whether through active care and support services, information advice and guidance or independent living and training projects; Guideposts exists in order to connect people and their carers with opportunities.

Our services offer a range of support both 1:1, or small group work within our building based services, or out in the local communities.

Experience of working with and a positive attitude towards people with learning disabilities are essential.

You will be experienced at managing situations and behaviours that challenge, Experience of working with vulnerable people and/or children would be an advantage.

You will provide assistance with care, personal support in order to support them attain their full potential, maximise options available and encourage choice, participation and motivation.

The ideal applicant should be enthusiastic with excellent communication skills and have the ability to plan and deliver activities which provide a variety of experiences for the people who attend our services

We are looking for people who just have the passion and drive to make a difference.

You will need to follow health and safety regulations and work in accordance with all safeguarding procedures.

Car drivers with own vehicle are desirable.

NVQ 2/3 is an advantage.
