CONNECT at Home

A friendly service focussing on wellbeing. We welcome anyone looking for companionship, conversation, respite breaks, a listening ear, or practical support with day to day living.

We cover Gloucester, Cheltenham and Stroud District.

Current Status: We are welcoming new members. We also offer support for those living with dementia.

About CONNECT at Home

CONNECT at Home can boost wellbeing and be of benefit for anyone. It might particularly suit you if you feel isolated, if you are a carer looking after someone with dementia and need some respite time, or if you would like help with some simple everyday tasks that help you to stay independent at home.

Befrienders are available Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm (except bank holidays). Regular bookings can be made for 3 hours per week.

We are currently work in partnership with Carers Hub  to provide Carer Respite breaks at home where awarded and eligible after Carers Assessment.

What does CONNECT at Home offer?

Here are some examples of what CONNECT at Home can offer:

Just for you

  • Discussions and chats
  • Craft/hobby activities
  • Board games/jigsaw
  • Book reading

Carer respite

  • Companionship for someone you care for
  • Dementia friendly activities for the person you care for
  • Activities for adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities

Out and about

  • Accompany a first time visit to a club
  • Local walks or other social activities
  • Shopping

Practical support

  • Sensory loss assistance: read mail or news, phone calls, book appointments
  • Connecting you with information or other types of support
