Job Title: Lunch Club Coordinator

Guideposts is a multi-disciplinary social care and mental health network focused first and foremost upon PEOPLE. As a charity we have over 40 years’ experience meeting the needs of individuals who face any number of complex challenges; from autism, learning disability and mental health conditions, to physical disability and age-related conditions, such as dementia, sensory impairment and mobility problems. Whether through active care and support services,information advice and guidance or independent living and training projects;Guideposts exists in order to connect people and their carers with opportunities.

We are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and creative person to join our existing very successful Friendship 4 All scheme for adults with learning difficulties. With the help of funding from the Big Lottery our service is expanding to provide a Saturday lunch club 

You will be able to lead the lunch club and support a group of service users with learning disabilities to develop skills,confidence and abilities with planning and cooking simple, healthy meals and snacks. You will work with volunteers to offer opportunities not only for learning but also social interaction and fun to service users.

You will need to demonstrate ability for and experience with planning and cooking healthy and varied meals and snacks. Experience of supporting adults with learning disabilities to learn new skills would be an advantage.

Regular support and supervision will be given by the lead co-ordinator, and you will need to be able to work flexibly with weekend work, and be able to work on your own initiative. 

Experience of working with and a positive attitude towards people with learning disabilities are essential.
